The Grape Debate Wine Challenge
Our Grape Debate Wine Tasting Challenge is one of our most popular events and is available in either a seated or standing format.
Guests are usually split into teams of between 4-12 people, this allows their natural competitiveness to develop and opens the door for group interaction. After our wine tasting host has given a 15-minute introduction on “sensory exploration” (how to taste wine!) Each group is given a team name such as the ‘Corkdorks’ or the ‘Blue Nuns!’
A variety of mystery wines are then served throughout the event with guests having an exciting wine tasting challenge to complete. The aim is to work out, using our highly unique and colourful wine tasting guides, the grape variety, country of origin and the price of the wine …£5 or £15?
Our wine tasting guides are wonderful tools in giving clues to your guests, we have various pictures of all the different objects that people should be smelling and tasting, such as..Grapefruit, pineapples, cutgrass, petrol and liquorice! We know people like them a great deal because they keep getting nicked!
With prizes up for grabs (and on display!) you can guarantee everyone will muck in and work as a team player. The event is also accompanied by our very own aroma game, this is where we have selected wine aromas (strawberry, apricot etc) that are passed to every team, with guests trying to work out the smells you can guarantee it will raise a few laughs.
Wine related quizzes are also incorporated to great effect and the tasting always ends in an interesting Grape Debate wine tasting twist.
